Visiting the Archive
- We are open by appointment to researchers who wish to consult our collections. Please Contact Us to make an appointment.
- Researchers must supply photographic ID and proof of address to consult the collections.
- Researchers must abide by the Reading Room Rules.
Research Service
We are happy to answer brief queries on our collections but are unable to undertake detailed research.
Ordering Copies of Archival Documents
The Copy Order Form may be used to order copies of documents.
- Fees are payable for copies of documents and will be notified to you in advance of copies being made.
- The fulfilment of copy orders is at the discretion of the Archivist. It is not possible to copy large volumes of records.
- Copies are generally available in the following formats: photocopy, scan and photograph.
- Due to the varied format, size and physical condition of archival documents, it may not be possible to supply copies of some documents, or it may not be possible to provide some types of copy formats.

Self-Service Photography
It is generally possible for visitors to the Archive to use handheld cameras to take photographs of archival documents. This service is provided free of charge. Some restrictions apply, including that scanners are not permitted.
Publishing Copies of Archival Documents
The Delany Archive administers applications to publish archival documents where an Archive partner is the copyright owner. The procedure is as follows:
Written application may be made on a Permission to Publish Archival Documents Form.
- Fees may apply for publication, and this will be advised following receipt of an application.
- The individual who wishes to publish documents must apply. Third party applications are not accepted.
- The Form is sent to a representative of the collection’s owner for decision.
